Athlete's Foot

Athlete's foot, also known as Tinea Pedis, is a common infection of the foot caused by a microscopic fungus. These organisms grow well in a warm, moist, dark environment such as your foot in your shoe. Athlete's foot is transmitted through contact and may develop after exposure on the floors of public showers, locker rooms, and swimming pools.
Signs and symptoms of Athlete's may include fluid-filled pustules with peeling skin or the foot may appear dry, crusty and scaly. Redness may be present. Common areas affected on the foot is in between the toes, but it may occur anywhere on the foot.
